Viktor Hovland is the talk of the golf town. He won the Tour Championship in Atlanta. While the crowd cheered and wooed for Viktor Hovland, their treatment changed when Jay Monahan came into the picture. And what followed was a collective unison of voices from the stands, chanting only one thing.
Hovland bagged the $18 Million as the winner’s payout out of the total sum. And his performance at the event was an entertainment-bound bundle of joy and excitement. After winning the event worth $75 Million, he expressed the importance of consistent play throughout one’s golf journey.

The crowd’s focus shifts from Viktor Hovland
The PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan announced Viktor Hovland’s Tour Championship win. And his other accolades throughout the season. And the Georgia crowd went from cheering Hovland’s name to booing Monahan.
The crowd was eager to express how they felt about him and didn’t shy away. They mercilessly booed him in unison. It took place when he was speaking with Amanda Renner from CBS Sports. And they made it difficult for him to continue.
He was, at that moment, thanking the PGA Tour fans. “I wanna first start off by thanking all the fans of the great PGA Tour.” It is very rare to hear booing at a PGA event, but the crowd was ruthless. Amid the LIV League – PGA tour framework, the golf community hasn’t been a Monahan fan.

Jay Monahan, though, pretended like he did not hear anybody. Or that the booing was not really taking place. Many players and the whole of the golf community have been in the dark since the framework agreement.
And it looks like no one really has patience anymore. Fans on X (formerly Twitter) reacted to the response Monahan got at the East Lake Golf Club course.
Fans react to Jay Monahan’s treatment by the Georgia crowd
Monahan recently returned to work after his spontaneous medical leave once he announced the merger. And it looks like his silence on the matter is costing him a great deal. Neither the crowd in Atlanta didn’t show him any mercy, nor did the fans on Twitter.
One stated the obvious, but it sounded more like they were urging Jay Monahan to speak.
The fans have spoken, fire Jay.

Another fan recalled the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and found a similarity with Jay Monahan. “Getting some of the Roger Goodell treatment.”

Another made a completely off-topic remark.
All I hear on the broadcast is Nantz talking about how much money everyone is making.

Ben Hogan commented something that seemed like he was trying to give a solution. Or was he?
I think he should lean into it and play a heel character.

Another fan said, “He’s a traitor”, and dismissed any sympathy for the commissioner. He wants him out.
he's a traitor to the players of the PGA he stabbed each and everyone of them in the back he needs to be fired

A couple of fans approved the Georgia crowd.
As they should!
