Thompson is one of the most renowned stars on the LGPA Tour. Though in recent years, she hasn’t managed to create many moments of glory, she remains the favorite of many. Lexi has been in the spotlight from a very young age, as she won her first and only Major at the age of 19, after claiming the 2014 Chevron Championship.

From thereon, the 27-year-old grabbed the attention of the golf world. However, with great attention comes a little bit of heat and hatred. But, Thompson isn’t the one who was going to stay put. Let’s take a look at what unfolded in Lexi’s Instagram post.

Lexi Thompson shuts down her critics

Two years after her maiden Major win in 2014, Thompson continued exhibiting her great performances. During her first nine starts in the 2016 LGPA Tour season, Thompson had 4 top-10 finishes. However, in the Texas Shootout, which was the next event, World number 7 failed to make the cut.

A few days later, Thompson posted a picture on her Instagram where she hopped on a treadmill for a training session, while the caption read, “My outlet to clear my mind…”. Two haters couldn’t contain themselves from criticizing Lexi, as one of them told her to focus on her game and not post “pretty stuff.” Another critic commented that she should be embarrassed for her performance in Texas.

Seeing the unnecessary, Thompson decided to clap back at them with a heartwarming message. Lexi Thompson wrote, “I sign every autograph at my tournaments and take pics with everybody go to every sponsor party. I practice and train my b**t off. I don’t want my whole page to be all about golf”.

She further added, “And ya I had a bad week but neither of u know what I was dealing with this week and I’m human not perfect. I can’t play well every week, please realize that and comment something positive because that hurts and I won’t deal with it.”

It truly is a great message sent by Lexi Thompson. In fact, it was so good, it made the haters apologize to the 27-year-old.

Though the LGPA star then disabled the comments section in the post, the positive and supportive message still poured in. Not many athletes get a sincere apology from their cyberbullies. But thanks to Thompson’s beautifully written message, it brought the best out of even the worst.
