It may be for Rory McIlroy, who will arrive at the historic Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course along with as many as 72 players to compete for his fifth win at the Truist Championship. The PGA Tour’s signature event, teeing off on May 8, will have $20M on the line and will host golfers like Ludvig Aberg, Xander Schauffele, and Justin Thomas, among others. The first round on May 8 promises a mix of weather conditions throughout the day. In the morning, expect a pleasant temperature of 24°C (75°F) with partly sunny skies and a light breeze from the east-northeast at 7 km/h (4.3 mph). Humidity will hover around 61%, and there’s a 25% chance of precipitation, so early players should enjoy dry conditions.

However, as the afternoon approaches, the weather will shift to mostly cloudy with a higher probability of rain at 57%, including the possibility of thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain steady at 24°C (75°F), but anticipate 2.5 mm of rain. By evening, temperatures will drop to 15°C (59°F) with increasing periods of rain, as humidity rises to 90% and the chance of precipitation climbs to 87%, bringing an additional 7.5 mm of rain.

How about the second round? Well, it looks just as rainy as the first round. The second round on May 9 promises to be a wet one, starting with morning temperatures around 18°C (64°F) and periods of rain. With a 70% chance of precipitation, about 4.0 mm of rain is likely. As the afternoon arrives, temperatures will rise slightly to 20°C (68°F), but rain will continue, bringing an additional 6.3 mm and a 71% chance of precipitation. By evening, temperatures will drop to 12°C (54°F), and while the rain may ease, mostly cloudy skies will remain.

How does the weather for the weekend rounds at the 2025 Truist Championship look like?

On Saturday, May 10, golfers can look forward to a delightful day as lingering showers move away to the northeast in the morning, paving the way for dry conditions throughout the weekend. The day will start pleasantly with temperatures around 20°C (68°F) and sunny skies. Humidity will remain comfortable at 53%, and with only a 5% chance of precipitation, players can expect clear visibility of 10 km (6.2 miles).

As the afternoon unfolds, temperatures will rise slightly to 21°C (69.8°F), keeping the sunny weather and low humidity at 40%. By evening, temperatures will drop to 13°C (55°F) with partly cloudy skies and a gentle west-northwest wind. Looking at the weather, we’d suggest bringing both umbrellas and sunscreens on the course!

As the tournament concludes on Sunday, May 11, delightful weather is expected, featuring partly sunny and pleasant conditions. Initially, morning temperatures will start at a comfortable 23°C (73.4°F) and then rise to a high of 25°C (77°F) in the afternoon, creating ideal circumstances for the final rounds of the Truist Championship. Moreover, with only a 10% chance of rain and no precipitation anticipated, players will enjoy a great day on the course. As the day transitions to evening, temperatures will drop to 13°C (55°F) with mainly clear skies. Finally, don’t forget to pack your sunscreen along with your umbrellas while you cheer on your favorites!
