Tommy Fleetwood
Tommy Fleetwood is a real challenge and it is easy to see why. The English golfer who turned professional in 2010 has 10 victories under his belt. But even though since 2017 Fleetwood has found a place among the top five 26 times, a PGA Tour victory still awaits. However, this season, the 34-year-old has shown impressive performances and is among the top names who could potentially pull an upset on the big names.
Fleetwood recorded a T5 in the beginning and then continued to register his name among the top 20 at most events. Even notable out of the past four events, he has recorded two top-5 and a top-10 finish, which reflects his substantial form. Also, if we reflect on his scorecard of the Charles Schwab Challenge, he recorded 14 birdies and an eagle to stay at T4, making him the top contender from the underdog list.
Si Woo Kim
Si Woo Kim became the youngest to win the Players Championship at 21, marking a high-expectation career. But unfortunately, the star struggles to maintain consistency in his performances. Even though he bagged four victories on the PGA Tour, his performance had a share of ups and downs. However, that concerns his competitors. You may ask why. Well, with the unexpected jump in performance, he could be the underdog that might shock Scottie Scheffler & Co.

Have an interesting take?
This season, he has already surprised the golf community multiple times. Take the example of his T8 finish at the RBC Heritage. Interestingly, Kim missed the cut in two consecutive rounds before the RBC Heritage performance.
Bud Cauley
The 35-year-old, Bud Cauley, has been a professional since 2011, but the golfer has struggled to clinch titles in his long career. Until now, he has won only one event at the Korn Ferry Tour. Considering his performance graph and victories, he might not be considered a challenge, but that could be a misassumption. In 2025, has showcased some of the best performances of his career. After his first and only missed cut this season at the Puerto Rico Open, he recorded three consecutive top-10 finishes.
Even at the previous Charles Schwab Challenge, he placed third with his rounds of 66-69-69-67. The dominant form might be concerning for the competitors, despite his previous record.
Daniel Berger
Another experienced golfer who has been a professional since 2013. Daniel Berger has four victories under his belt, but the most memorable is the 2021 win at the AT&T Pebble Beach, where he carded an eagle on the final hole. Well, that was his final victory, and since then, he has been aiming to add more. But his 2025 season so far, has put him on the list of serious contenders.

The golfer has already recorded a tied second and a tied third this season. Interestingly, he was runner-up after missing the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open, and now with the Memorial Tournament, he is coming after a missed cut at the Charles Schwab Challenge, too. Is it a sign of a victorious performance? Only time will tell.
Viktor Hovland
Finally, we have the Norwegian golfer, Viktor Hovland. The 27-year-old has already won 11 titles, but compared to his form till 2023, he could certainly do better. Even though he emerged victorious in the Valspar Championship this year, form and consistency remain recurring issues. But the Valspar Championship win could have given Hovland the boost he needs to win the Memorial Tournament. Also, the golf community fondly remembers when he defeated Denny McCarthy in the playoff to clinch his fourth PGA Tour title.
