After a successful weekend in Louisville, the PGA Tour is back with another banger! It will make its comeback to Texas with the Charles Schwab Challenge from May 23 to May 26. The championship dates back to 1946, and for the entirety of its eight decades, it has been played at the Colonial Country Club, and this year is no different.
Last year, Argentinian national Emiliano Grillo was bestowed with the Tartan plaid jacket, after he defeated Adam Schenk in the playoffs. Along with him will be other eminent players like Jordan Spieth, Scottie Scheffler, and Max Homa.

While all the players on the field are among the best golfers in the world, there are, just like any other field, a select few fan favorites.
Top-3 players to look out for this weekend at the Charles Schwab Challenge
Scottie Scheffler had a great start at the PGA Championship last weekend, scoring an impressive 4 under 67 in the first round. Even after a tumultuous Friday morning, World no. 1 scored 5 under 66 after being released from the jail. However, the whole ordeal took a toll on the 27-year-old, which reflected during his penultimate round did not go as planned, as he only carded a score of 73 (+2), causing him to fall to T24 with a 7-over par. However, after the final round, he still managed to finish at a T8. This week in Texas is a golden ticket for Scheffler to return to the top of the leaderboard once again!
Following him on the list is Collin Morikawa, who has managed to finish in the Top-5 in both Majors of the season—T3 at Augusta National and T4 at Valhalla. However, he has failed to grab any victories at the 2024 PGA Tour and well, this might be a great opportunity for him to acquire his first win!

Third on the list is undoubtedly Billy Horschel, who was able to secure a T8 finish at the Valhalla Golf Club alongside Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, and Robert MacIntyre. Horschel was eight strokes behind the victor, Xander Schauffele. The 37-year-old already has eight PGA Tour wins, the latest of which came at this year’s Corales Puntacana Championship in April. He has his eyes set on grabbing the trophy at the Charles Swab Challenge this weekend.
It remains to be seen who will become the ultimate champion on Sunday. Stay tuned to find out every update about the tournament.
