With a 33.0% chance of winning, Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul has taken the lead at the Chevron Championship with Jin Hee Im. The two shot the Friday round of  8 under 67 to take the lead, where Thitikul shot one bogey and six birdies. And Im scored a bogey-free round with three birdies on the front nine and at the back.

Nelly Korda is just one stroke behind the leaders on the leaderboard. Korda is not only vying for the first major title of the season but also looking at a potential fifth consecutive win on the LPGA Tour as well. The LPGA pro started round three at the Chevron Championship with a double bogey on par-4 hole one. However, the 25-year-old quickly recovered and birdied the next hole.

She went on to make five more birdies with a bogey on the par-3 hole 7. She scored 7 under 69 to take the solo third position on the leaderboard. The three are now paired up to play the third round and the trio will start the round later than everyone in the field at 11:30 a.m. EST.

As the round concluded, the cut line after the 36 holes was 2 over, and the 132 field was cut short to only 73 remaining in the field. Among the ones who did not make the cut at Carlton Wood, three players happen to hold a rank in the 10-top Rolex World Ranking.

Three from the top 6 out of the Chevron Championship

The three unexpected players among the many who could not make the cut at the Chevron Championship were World No. 3 Celine Boutier,  10-time LPGA Tour winner and ranked fifth on Rolex rankings, Minjee Lee, and last but not least, the veteran player on the LPGA Tour with 15 LPGA Tour titles, Jin Young Ko.
