The PGA Tour moves to Mexico for the first time this season at the historic Vidanta Vallarta Golf Course for the Mexico Open. While several star names will be missing from action after preceding prominent events, the man of the moment, World No. 1 Jon Rahm, will be in action. Will the Mexico Open be another victorious stop for the Spaniard, or are we going to witness a surprise on the other side of the Rio Grande?
Can Jon Rahm emulate his 2022 victory at the Mexico Open?
After a fortnight of intense golf, including a win at the Masters Tournament, a dedicated Rahm finally decided to take a week off from his schedule. But that break lasted merely a week, with the Spaniard returning to the field at the Mexico Open.

But one wonders – why would Rahm rush into playing, despite the event falling outside of the ‘elevated’ events category? As history suggests, the 28-year-old has a great record at the tournament. With a score of seventeen under-par, Rahm emerged victorious in the last edition of the Mexico Open.
The Spaniard has been in top form this year, racking up victories on the go. His latest triumph, the Masters Tournament, has left everyone in awe, with fans prophesying 2023 to be his year.
But the glamor of the event is portrayed through the beauty of the course. Also known as the ‘Nuevo Vallarta’, this golf course houses stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and the Sierra Madre Mountains. It was also awarded the Renovation of the Year by Golf Inc. magazine in 2022. If records fascinate you, the course maintains the longest golf cart suspension bridge in the world.
Prize money breakdown and winner’s benefits at the 2023 Mexico Open
