With his short departure in April 2023, retirement rumors floating in mid-season, and at last, Tiger Woods’s most anticipated comeback, this year has been nothing but dramatic for Woods and his stance. After playing only one official event in the 2023 season and opting for recovery for the majority of it, Woods’s career money for 2023 was not expected to be in the millions.

How much did Tiger Woods earn from PGAT events?

In 2022, Tiger Woods made his return to the game of golf at the PNC Championship alongside his son Charlie Woods. Continuing to play golf after that meant Woods would be playing more tournaments in 2023, and he eventually did. Woods made his 2022–23 first appearance at the Genesis Invitational. The 15x major champion struggled a lot with his gameplay; he made many bogeys, fewer birdies, and finished T45.

For rounds two and four, Woods scored 3 and 4 over par. The ordinary performance by Woods earned him a check of $59,560 and was his first and only official payout of the 2022–23 season. Then comes the month of April, and Woods could not make the cut as he withdrew before that. The 3x Masters winner had to bid adieu to the greens because his ankle pain aggravated and he had to go through plantar fasciitis surgery. From there onwards, Woods took a nearly 7-month hiatus.

After recovering from his surgery, Woods made the Hero World Challenge his comeback ground. He announced his participation and sent a wave of eagerness through the golf world to watch him play again. In the Bahamas, Woods scored 75-70-71-72 and finished in 18th place. Through Hero World, Wood gained $130,000. Then came his participation at the PNC Championships.

In conclusion, Woods played one official event, withdrew from another, and participated in two nonofficial PGA Tour events. The 2023 career earnings from his participation in these events come to $213,060.

The billionaire may have played only four games, though, through his various business ventures, Woods stayed in the news and hence remained one of the top two influential golfers on the PGA Tour. As a result, Woods earned a $12 million Player Impact Program bonus.

Hence, the $213,060 prize purse for Woods’s 2023 season boosts up to $12,213,060. The 2023 career money for Woods is significantly more for someone inactive for the majority of the season. How will the career money of the 2024 season look for Tiger Woods, as he has planned to play more? Let’s wait and watch!
