It seems that the debate that has divided the golf world for the last two years has finally come to an end. June 6, 2023, was a big day in the history of golf and will hold a lot of significance in the sport’s history. The two rival leagues, LIV Golf and the PGA Tour decided to merge on June 6, 2023. One of the most high-profile people in the United States, POTUS Joe Biden, has his share of thoughts about the merger and is not shying away from expressing those thoughts.

Everybody is aware that LIV Golf is backed by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, and the league has been embroiled in anti-trust litigation with the PGA Tour since last year. On June 6, 2023, it was announced that the commercial businesses of LIV Golf and PGA Tour would be combined to form a new business company. The deal also includes the PGA European Tour, also known as the DP World Tour. The deal signed on Tuesday will end all the suits that the two leagues were earlier involved in.

Although the details of the merger have not yet been made public, PIF Governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan spoke to CNBC’s media house and said that a new board will be made in just a matter of weeks to administer every presented proposal. He himself will be the head of this board.

With his latest swing video going viral, it has come to light that President Biden is a golf fan. In his recent press conference, an interviewer asked him a question about the recent LIV and PGA Tour merger: “Do you have a comment on the PGA merging with LIV?” The current president of the United States had a quick reply siding with the PGA Tour: I plan on being a PGA.” The clip of his video was shared by one of the Twitter accounts, Breaking911.
