The Austrian started with a double bogey on the par 4, 1st. But eight birdies, equally distributed between front and back nine, catapulted him to 6-under 65. Hoge, on the other hand, posted the best scorecard on Friday, with a 7-under 64. Poston was another going bogey-free at 3-under 68.

Ludvig Aberg, on the other hand, has made quiet strides to the top. He is sitting at T5 one shot off the lead. Rory McIlroy, his playing mate for the first two rounds was impressed. Aberg has lived up to the hype, the Northern Irish pro said. The world no.2 is still in the mix at 7-under through two rounds at the RBC Heritage.
