The 2023 Ryder Cup has undoubtedly proven to be a nightmare for the American crew. Not only do the Europeans have a whopping lead of 6 points but the American golfers have found it difficult to capitalize their strokes. This has led to tensions among the defending champions. Alas! That is not the only source of discomfort in the US Ryder Cup dressing room.

A big uncertainty has shrouded the American side in the form of rumored statements coming forth. Interestingly, right in the middle of the controversy are two known PGA Tour Pros— Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele. While the questions appear to swirl over these two personalities, the golf diva Paige Spiranac also has a solid input for the “fractured” system of the US team.

The American Ryder Cup team is facing a moment no less than a nightmare currently. With the 30-year curse of foreign soil defeat looming over their heads, the US players have shown no signs of turning the new chapter of history in their favor. Though the second day has seen some fight from the golfers of America, no sort of dominance has been shown in any match consistently.

Amidst this, how can the golf diva shy away from commenting on the game’s biggest tournament? Paige Spiranac came forth throwing shade at the American Team’s subpar performance along with praising the Europeans. Uploading a picture on Twitter  from the match of the foursome pair of Xander Schauffele-Patrick Cantlay and Jon Rahm-Shane Lowry, mentioning how their expressions “perfectly describe this year’s Ryder Cup.”

The uploaded picture in the tweet showed Schauffele and Cantlay looking utterly defeated with their heads low, depicting a sign of the toughness of the course that the Americans have felt throughout the two days. On the other hand, Rahm and Lowry were seen hosting confident looks along with keeping a friendly posture. Their stance clearly reflected a united front, having paved out well for the European side overall.

Amidst Paige Spiranac’s brutal remark on the American golfers, including Patrick Cantlay, another matter has been surrounding the 31-year-old golf star. A recent report reveals Cantlay to be emphasizing the fact that the players should be paid for their participation in the Ryder Cup. The lack of the cap hosting his country’s flag was intentional as well, reflecting a sign of protest from the PGA Tour professional.

Even recent tweets had surfaced commenting on the “fractured” situation of the American side. Additionally, the absence of the 8-time PGA Tour Winner from the Gala Dinner also somewhat indicated tensions in the dressing room.

However, amidst all the news surrounding the struggling team, the golf fans have nothing but utter amusement and disappointment to offer to the American side looking at their underwhelming display of skills.

Bringing out their humorous guns, the golf world takes shots at the US Ryder Cup team

Paige Spiranac already summed up how miserable the past few days have been for the American warriors. Where, on the one hand, Saturday witnessed them trying to make a comeback. On the other hand, the margin between the numbers on the scoreboard stands against the resilient front. However, as the media influencer brought forth her meme game, fans did not disappoint in delivering theirs.

Some of the fans commented using Luke Donald and Zach Johnson comparison:

Another user put forth a meme template to showcase how Cantlay might have reacted when the US Captain Zach Johnson asked him to represent the American team.

This also encouraged some of the golf lovers to come forth and mention the body language of the players. For a couple of them, there seemed to be a lack of a united front within the American side, favoring the Europeans in playing as a team. One of them referred to the efforts of US team as “typical American teamship.”

Another fan indicated an unhealthy environment within the American team, sharing his own experience of seeing the players on the course on the first day:

Few hopeful fans highlighted a possible comeback of the American team, looking at their current standing. One of them stated:

With the golf diva and fans all disappointed by the display of the game by the American team, all eyes remain set on the individual matches on day 3 to turn in favor of the side. While the hope continues, what do you think of Patrick Cantlay’s probable demand from the Ryder Cup? And the meme game of your fellow fans? Let us know in the comments.
