GOLFTV is going to shut down! Latest reports suggest that the international streaming site that has been the broadcasting partner of the PGA Tour events will soon discontinue its services. And its subscribers, the golf fans, have already started receiving notifications regarding the same.
One of the golfers tracking pages, NUCLR GOLF, and the tracking page devoted to Tiger Woods, TWLEGION, disclosed the news through their Twitter accounts. According to them, the streaming channel will no longer be available for viewers.

Notably, Discovery Inc., the parent company of GOLFTV, signed a $2 billion media rights agreement with the PGA Tour in 2018. According to the deal, the streaming site can broadcast the Tour events in 220 markets outside the US until 2030.
Nonetheless, the new rumors suggest that GOLFTV will discontinue its services in December. Notably, the officials haven’t spoken regarding this matter.
Will GOLFTV cut ties with the golf legend, Tiger Woods, too?
According to the Associated Press, the 15-time major champion signed a deal with the PGA Tour’s global streaming partner in 2018. It will broadcast content related to Woods, including his practice routines, life on the tour, and some instructions.
“I want to talk to golf fans and golfers everywhere,” Woods told the media while explaining his new partnership in 2018. “…directly, and straight from me.” Furthermore, he added, “that’s important to me; Talking about what we care about, what’s happening on the course, how to play better, how can I shoot lower scores tomorrow, how can I beat my friends?”

GOLFTV signed with another streaming partner amidst the rumors
According to rumors, GOLFTV will discontinue in December. However, Discovery Inc. signed with another streaming partner, Starzplay, earlier this year. Notably, Starzplay is the online streaming site for the MENA Tour events. The deal includes the new site adding GOLFTV as an add-on to subscribers.
“The Discovery Inc. add-on GolfTV on Starzplay will bring the incredible sport closer to millions of fans in the MENA region,” Danny Bates, the chief commercial officer of Starzplay, said. The deal will also help stream the live Tour events and the previous events in the MENA region.
