During their time together, Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn were considered the power couple in the sporting world. Both athletes dominated their respective sports in their prime years. However, like any successful athlete, the former couple also shared a competitive mindset. Unfortunately for the ever-winning Woods, he was once downplayed by Vonn whilst comparing each other in a winter sport.

While Tiger ruled the golf courses around the world, Vonn’s impeccable skiing skills won her four World Cups while representing the US Team. She also added an Olympic Gold Medal to her resume at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. After earning a name for themselves in their respective sports, Woods, and Vonn began dating in 2013.

The couple’s legendary sporting background and great chemistry won the hearts of the world. Nonetheless, in 2014, her glory and glamour brought the American Ski racer to the sets of David Letterman’s late-night show, where she humorously trolled her then-15-time Major winner beau.

What did Lindsey Vonn have to say about the skiing skills of Tiger Woods?

Just a year before the change in the host of the Late Show with David Letterman, Lindsey Vonn had the opportunity to be invited as the guest on the iconic talk show. However, the discussion was then hijacked with constant questions regarding Tiger and golf.

When asked if she ever played the 18-hole sport, Vonn responded by saying, “I have a hole-in-one. Pretty proud of that”. While the Alpine Ski racer claimed to have mastered the sport of her then-boyfriend, Letterman then asked if Woods was good at Skiing. “Yeah, he’s good”, said the 34-year-old.

She added, “He always wants to prove”, referring to the 15-time Major winner’s competitive mindset. Nonetheless, after complementing Tiger’s skiing attributes, Vonn then took a jibe at him. She said, “Compared to me he’s really not that good”. While the Tiger stans may be unhappy with Lindsey’s poke at the golfer, the audience along with the host laughed at the banter.

Though Tiger Woods’ elite mindset has helped him have 82 professional wins in golf, for him to outshine a professional ski racer in skiing may seem like an overreach. Nonetheless, Lindsey Vonn was trolling her former beau, as the couple was known for having a witty relationship. Perhaps, it must be their humor that has helped the ex-couple remain friends despite breaking up in 2015.
