Grant Hovrat lost a million subscribers race against Bryson DeChambeau after the 2-time US Open winner invited the 45th President of the United States for a fun round of golf. Seeing the trend, the golf influencer welcomed another Trump on his YouTube channel, the oldest granddaughter and avid golfer, Kai Trump. She might be the only one who had taken after her grandfather and plays varsity golf for Benjamin High School in Palm Beach.

Being the 45th POTUS’ granddaughter, the spotlight has always been on Kai Trump since she came to the world 17 years ago. Thus, Hovrat asked the junior golfer how it has affected her personality and relationships in her life. Surprisingly, the 17-year-old revealed that it didn’t faze her at all. She proudly said, “It’s always been normal Spotlight, and like that’s never really changed who I am. I’m still very grounded from it.” Although the outside noises might have been loud, Kai Trump explained that she had known that all her life and she didn’t let it become her personality,

So much so that at school, her relationship with Donald Trump doesn’t make her stand out amongst the thousands of students. Moreover, after her speech at the Republican National Convention, the 17-year-old expressed that she has been busy texting all her friends and rather shifting the focus from her and asking them about their days. That’s one thing Kai Trump says, “that’s never going to change.” 

And life has always been about as normal for Kai Trump as for others. That’s what she relayed at the RNC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, after the assassination attack on her grandfather. Through her first speech there, the 17-year-old revealed the normal relationship she shared with her grandpa, despite him being the 45th president and the attention always being on their family.

Kai Trump and Donald Trump’s ‘normal’ relationship

“To me, he’s just a normal grandpa,” said the smiling Kai Trump as she stood at the RNC stage in Milwaukee and shattered some misconceptions about the 45th president. When Kai Trump won her first Ladies Club Championship at Trump Palm Beach, just two days after, Trump also won the senior Club Championship, indeed the two share equal passion and love for the game of golf.

And off the camera, the 78-year-old turns into a normal, coddling grandfather to his 10 grandchildren. The 17-year-old in her political debut speech said, “He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we’re doing in school.” Moreover, at times, Trump forgets that the junior golfer might be at school and starts narrating to her all about his golf endeavors, the two share an adorable relationship just like every other household, Kai Trump had expressed.

Although it might not be expected, despite being in the news relatively more than any normal person, Kai Trump has not let it go to her head and kept herself humbled, whether it be with her friends or around her grandpa.
