During off weeks, golf professionals are often seen in the stands for an NBA game, while basketball players swing the club hard on the course. Further proving their love for the game, recently, Justin Thomas and a group of other professionals revealed their picks for march madness at the Valspar Championship.

It is March madness time! For those of you who do not know, this is NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. It is also known as NCAA March Madness, a single-elimination tournament played each spring in the USA. The tournament features 68 men’s basketball teams that compete in seven rounds for the national championship. Recently at the Valspar Championship, Thomas and other top PGA Tour professionals revealed their picks.

The professionals, including Dustin Johnson and Collin Morikawa, spoke about their picks in a brief video, rooting for their favorite teams to win the championship.

Dustin said, “I don’t know. I haven’t really haven’t thought about it yet too much. But you know there’s I think there’s a handful of teams that have a really good shot there’s to me there’s not one really standout favorite.”
The defending champion, Sam Burns, said, “To be honest, I haven’t followed as closely as I wish I could have. But, you know, hopefully, you know, LSU will give it a run.”

Gary Woodland also spoke about who he is rooting for. He said, “Big Jayhawk, they’re playing their best basketball right now at the right time. They obviously close out the season well, having a tie the big 12 and then winning the tournament. And the way they did it. I’m excited about the way they’re playing and I like the brackets.”

Thomas, on the other hand, is rooting for Gonzaga. He said, “Gonzaga has been a pretty dominant team all year in terms of consistency, but I mean I’m rooting for tied pretty much-tied hoops and against Kansas.”

Madness at Valspar Championship
Copperhead course saw some incredible golf with various rounds under par. A total of four players have a share of the lead after the first round of the Valspar Championship on Thursday. The prominent name amongst the leaders is the defending champion, Sam Burns. He carded an opening round of low 64, seven-under-par. With a good start to his attempt title defense, we can surely expect more fireworks over the weekend too.
