The career of Paige Spiranac off the golf course has always made the headlines. However, last year one of her shots went viral, when Spiranac made a hole-in-one in front of Golf legend Gary Player, and also received a celebratory hug.

Since the start of 2022, Gary Player can be seen arriving at the Majors to promote LIV Golf. However, in 2021, LIV Golf was just a made-up rumor and Gary was still not criticized for his decisions.

Paige Spiranac had the opportunity to meet the Hall of Famer and show him her golfing skills. Though Spiranac’s professional career may be cast in bronze, she still has the capabilities of surprising others with her talent.

Spiranac aces in front of Player

The incident took place back in October 2021 at a money-raising event for pancreatic cancer research in Bedford Hills, New York. This was a special cause for Gary Player who lost his wife earlier that year to the same illness. The tournament was sponsored by Berenberg.

On the 148-yard for the 14th hole of the Glen Arbor Golf Club, Spiranac managed to score a hole-in-one. In her first tweet on her ace, she simply said, “Made a hole in one in front of Gary Player.”

In the video as the ball is in the air, Player can be heard conferring his choice of club with his caddie. In the meantime someone said, “Go in…GO IN!”

It did, eliciting a round of applause and the hug mentioned earlier from The Black Knight. Spiranac reacted by saying: “Oh my God,” she said. “Did you get that?” Later she even shared the video on Twitter.

Anyone who scored an ace in front of the 9-time Major Champion, would probably have the same reaction.

Why did Paige Spiranac quit playing professional golf?

Though her social media career is booming, Spiranac’s professional golf career did not have the same luck. The 29-year-old’s professional career had ended before it even began.

Paige Spiranac’s YouTube page has nearly 300k subscribers. It is on that channel where she once shared the reason for her departure from professional golf.

The 2022 Maxim’s Sexiest Woman Alive said, “For me, it was never physical ability. It was always mental. She explained that she never believed in herself and her talents. Therefore, Spiranac couldn’t perform really well in a tournament, even though she played well.

“I think it has gone better now that I just play it for fun,” added Spiranac. It’s safe to say Spiranac’s found a new path and also went on to be the best at it.
