Sungjae Im won the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open with an exceptional last-round finish. However, he did not play up to his expectations on the third day and recorded a poor 1-under round. Nevertheless, he came back on Sunday to end it with a bang and made nine birdies to ensure victory.
His rounds of 63-65-70-62 left him with a score of 24-under par to claim his second PGA Tour victory. Im bagged prize money of $1,260,000 in a win that came on his 100th PGA tournament start.

The world number 21 displayed an amazing set of skills over the course of the week. He entered the last day two strokes behind the leader. However, he started it off in style with a birdie. He went on to hit four more birdies on the first nine and was, thereafter, comfortably in the lead.
In the back nine, he hit another four consecutive birdies! This spectacular show ensured him the lead, and by the time the last hole came around, he maintained his lead. Therefore, unless something went drastically wrong, a win was confirmed.

In a post-win conference, he said “The big difference between yesterday and today was that today there was no wind compared to round 3, and that made it easier. But tee to green, driver, irons, putting game was, it worked as I wanted to, and it gave me a good result.”
