Tiger Woods is a magician on the course. The 15-time major championship winner is famous for making miraculous recoveries from awful positions. Moreover, he proved it right again in 2018 at the Valspar Championship. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and relive probably one of the greatest recovery shots in the history of the sport.

Tiger Woods escapes the Snake’s Pit
PGA Tour makes its way to the 2022 Valspar Championship. The event is taking place at the tough and exciting Copperhead Course. Copperhead is famous for probably being one of the toughest closing holes on the PGA Tour. The 16, 17, and 18th holes are collectively known as the Snake Pit. However, back in 2018, Tiger made a brilliant recovery in the first round of the event.

Woods hit a good tee shot in the first round of the event at the par 4 16th hole. However, his ball ended up skimming through the fairway. Through the rough and settled close to a tree. Furthermore, Tiger managed to find a stance and hit the shot.

Woods had a huge tree in his downswing, which could cause serious injuries to his wrist. But Tiger decided to go ahead with his shot. He hit a beautiful hook around the trees, over the water and the ball settled into the rough near the green. Tiger hit his club hard against the tree but still managed to make an unbelievable recovery.

Woods then hit his chip to three feet and walked off with an incredible par on the opening hole of the Snake Pit. He made a beautiful tap in birdie on the 17th hole.
The defending champion at 2022 Valspar Championship
Sam Burns is the defending champions this week on the PGA Tour. Burns won the event back in 2021 with an overall score of 17-under-par. He won the event with a comfortable cushion of three strokes. Sam carded a final round of 68, three-under-par to win tame the Snake Pit. With Sam gaining momentum last week at Players he can easily win back to back at the Valspar Championship.
