Tony Finau is currently playing the best golf of his life. He recently won the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic at the Detroit Golf Club. Moreover, this was his second win in two weeks, and we are finally witnessing his true potential. Furthermore, he humbly dedicated these two victories to his family members, who have been with him through thick and thin. 

Tony has been on the PGA Tour since 2014 and registered his first victory in 2016. However, there was a drought of around five years, as he did not win any event until 2021 when he won the Northern Trust. But the Samoan golfer has registered two victories in two weeks, and his fans and family welcomed him royally after the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic victory.

Family and fans give Tony Finau a Samoan welcome

Tony Finau is probably enjoying the best phase of his life as he has registered two wins in two weeks. Moreover, his family members and fans were excited to welcome the golfer home after a while. So they gathered near the airport for a surprise welcome party, as Finau was about to arrive.

They welcomed him in the traditional Samoan style, with garlands and leaves. They even carried posters to congratulate their beloved golfer as he returned home with two trophies in two weeks. Fans were standing around and clicking pictures while Finau was dancing at the center with the Rocket Mortgage trophy.

Tony Finau’s wife posted these videos on Instagram, while Golf.com posted a reel about this incident. The Samoan golfer is getting much-needed love and appreciation from the fans.

Fans always appreciated him for his talent, but he, sadly, could never convert it into performance and win trophies. However, this season he has been performing consistently and looks like he has learned the art of winning. The golfer carded a-26 for the event and had a victory margin of 5 strokes against the runner-ups, Patrick Cantlay, Cameron Young, and Taylor Pendrith.

Therefore, with this victory, Tony Finau has broken into the top 10 of the FedExCup rankings. Additionally, Finau has also made progress in the OWGR as he currently ranks 13th and is hopeful of breaking into the top 10 soon. So Finau is peaking at the right time and he will be hopeful of becoming the FedExCup champion this year.
