It is always fun to watch the most prominent players of the modern era of golf, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Known for their competitive spirit, both golfers love to trash-talk against each other. But this one time, they burst out laughing after an intense verbal battle. 

The hilarious moment happened at the press conference before the first-ever one-on-one battle between Woods and Mickelson. The whole press meeting went humorous as the two golfers kept each other on their toes with their funny yet intense trash talks.

“It’s great to win the nine million. I just don’t want to lose,” said Mickelson. Lefty explained that he always had a hard time winning against Tiger. Hence, he wanted to win the one-day event against his professional rival. “The bragging rights are what’s going to be even worse than the money,” he added.

Even though Mickelson talked the most, the few words Tiger said to him were more than enough to hurt his opponent. “I’ve always enjoyed it through the years,” Tiger said about the battles he had with Phil on the course throughout their career. 

“I know it’s been a little bit jaded towards my side, so hence, I’m really liking it.” Tiger’s remarks drew a big laugh from the reporters.

Capital One’s The Match: Tiger vs Phil was the first time the two had competed in a one-on-one match. However, every time they have competed in an official tournament, the upper hand has always been with Tiger

Nevertheless, the funniest moment of the press meeting was when the golfers glared into each other’s eyes to take photographs. They couldn’t make a straight face and ended up giving a ‘bro’ handshake.

Mickelson debuted in 1992 and has since won 45 championship titles on the PGA Tour, including 6 majors. The 51-year-old won his last major at the 2021 PGA Championship. Furthermore, he holds the 55th position on the Official World Golf Rankings.

On the other hand, Tiger debuted in 1996, four years after Mickelson. Yet, he has won more than 80 championship titles on the PGA Tour, including 15 majors. The golfer had won his last major at the 2019 Masters Tournament. Moreover, he ranks at the 700+ position on the OWGR standings.
