His lethargic play during the final round of the Masters, which was criticized by other players, was at the center of the dispute. The controversy involving Cantlay persisted even after the Masters were over. For days, this kept him in the news.

But after that, the 31-year-old is currently at the RBC Heritage. Cantlay is in the limelight once more as a result of an event at Harbour Town, despite his determination to win the competition in light of the Masters’ criticism. However, the reason is quite different from the one at the Masters.

In the midst of this, a rare incident revolving around the 31-year-old has come to light during a game that has caught all the attention.

Approximately 20 feet from the hole, the PGA Tour golfer struck the ball out to the left. The ball, however, rolled past the hole while dribbling from left to right. Fortunately, the ball just stopped away from the water. It somehow managed to land between a wooden bulkhead and a support post. This event happened just after Jordan Spieth‘s shot ended up in the water.

Amanda Rose posted the picture of the ball on Twitter, and it surely seems that Cantlay got very lucky there. The tweet’s description stated that “The golf gods love Patrick Cantlay apparently.” Cantlay nevertheless managed to make a shot despite the ball being trapped. In the golfing community, the photo and the accompanying shot from Cantlay have gone viral. However, the fact that fans can’t stop talking about this image suggests that it has captured everyone’s attention.

The 31-year-old’s situation could have been far worse, though. The ball might have remained stuck, or it might have deflated and floated away into the water. It could also have trickled to the left or to the right or something else. Cantlay, however, was fortunate enough to have escaped from such a horrific circumstance.
