For the past few weeks, there has been plenty of speculations surrounding Patrick Reed joining the LIV Golf. But now the wait is over as LIV Golf officially announced the arrival of the player. And as expected, the fans are quite furious regarding the news.
The 31-year-old has become the latest PGA Tour member to jump the ship to join the Saudi-backed Tour. He joins the tour alongside Bryson DeChambeau who also became part of the Invitational series recently.

Patrick Reed was always open-minded about joining the LIV Golf Tournament. The 2018 Masters Champion last played at the Memorial Tournament, where he finished tied in 53rd rank.

Reed was officially announced by LIV Golf via their Twitter account. The Tour is currently having its inaugural tournament. However, Reed will join the Tour from the second event that will be held at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Oregon.
Fans’ reaction to Patrick Reed joining LIV Golf
It is no doubt that the majority group of golf fans are in total support of the PGA Tour. So when the news broke out of Reed joining the nemesis of PGA, there was a lot of anger and disappointment amongst the fans.
Many fans tweeted directly at Reed by going at his controversial past, while others were mocking the LIV Golf for various reasons.

Patrick Reed’s PGA Career
In his 12-year-long professional golf career, Reed had a few glimpses of success on the PGA Tour. He won his first Major in 2018 after winning the Masters. Reed also has 9 PGA Tour wins to his name.

Apart from his achievements, Patrick Reed also happens to have an infamous reputation in the world of golf for his past. He has cheating allegations dating back to his college days. He also had similar incidents at the 2019 Hero World Challenge and 2021 Farmers Insurance Open. Now, with a new chapter in his career, it will be interesting to see how Patrick Reed will measure to the challenges he faces in the LIV Golf.
