Although he has faced many controversies and criticisms throughout his career, the 15-time major champion, Tiger Woods, has always supported him and considered him one of his best friends. However, the golf legend has cut ties with the 1-time major winner after he allied with LIV Golf!

LIV Golf Invitational Series is a Saudi-backed golf league that the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour consider their rival. As one of the players who have pledged allegiance to Tour and its legacies, Woods doesn’t support the new league. And according to reports, he hasn’t spoken with the Mad Scientist of golf since he signed with them.

Although Woods has cut ties with DeChambeau, the young golfer still has respect for his idol. “I have high regard for Tiger,” he said after the Pro-Am at Bedminster, before the third event of the league. “I have the utmost respect for what he did for the game of golf,” The Mad Scientist added. “What he did for the PGA Tour that allowed us to have this opportunity.”

“I don’t understand it,” Woods said about Greg Norman’s new Saudi-backed league. “I still don’t see how that’s in the best interests of the game,” he revealed before teeing up at the 150th Open Championship.

Notably, many Tour players, including DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson, joined the Saudi league. And Woods revealed his displeasure with their decisions. He explained that the Tour players turned their back on the PGA Tour that helped them make their careers by joining the Series.
The major drawback of the LIV Golf Woods doesn’t like
LIV Golf offers its players the biggest purse in the history of golf. It also provides extra money for the golfers as an appearance fee while signing a contract.

However, they do not provide the OWGR points. And unless a player is a former major champion, the points are a must for the players to get a chance to play in a major tournament. Notably, Greg Norman has applied to get the OWGR accreditation for his Invitational Series.
