Johnson recently revealed the story of their meet-up, and how it was arranged by none other than Gretzky’s mother.

Dustin Johnson recalls his first meeting with Paulina Gretzky

The two-time major championship winner appeared in the latest episode of the YouTube channel, ‘Amateur Hour’, where he divulged a number of things associated with his personal life. Among those was his first-ever meeting with future wife Paulina Gretzky, daughter of yesteryear hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.

“Oh, me and Paulina, we actually met at her house for the first time,” Johnson began.

“So I had met Wayne at the ADT Skills Challenge, back when they used to have it, and then I was out playing a Tiger’s event and played with Janet, her mother, at the pro-am. She was like, you want to come up for dinner? I was like, sure, I’ll come over for dinner,” he went on to add.

When did Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky start seeing each other?

The meeting at Gretzky’s house wasn’t enough to fire a spark between Johnson and Gretzky. “We were friends for like three years before we started dating,” the golfer revealed.

However, Gretzky became a regular fixture in Johnson’s PGA TOUR games in the 2013 season. The soon-to-be couple took things up a notch after announcing their engagement in August of that year. The adoring duo eventually married in a lavish wedding ceremony in Tennessee on April 23, 2022.
