Even the people with the strongest minds were affected mentally during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, many initiatives had taken place to help the people. One such was taken by the LIV Chief, Greg Norman, who brought back a bizarre advertisement from the 80s to uplift the spirits of his fans.
Long before his journey as a successful entrepreneur, Norman was known to be one of the greatest golfers to be coming out of the Australian continent. While the world was locked in their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, ‘the Shark’ decided to take his fans a trip down memory lane with a positive message.

What message did Greg Norman share in his advertisement?
In the 1980s, Norman was casted in a Swan Lager beer advertisement. In the bizarre one-minute-long advert, the golfer was seen choking many shots initially, but later ends up winning the event, and also is seen flaunting his Claret Jug from the 1986 Open Championship.
The song, ‘They Say You’d Never Make It’, was played in the background of the advertisement. After more than three decades, Greg Norman felt it was the right time to bring back the 80s advert to uplift the spirits of the people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“No matter what anyone says we all can make it!”, the two-time Major winner wrote in his post both on Twitter and Instagram. He added, “Sending positive vibes to all today, we WILL get through this chaos. Hope this lightens your day. Be safe, smart, and above all stay healthy”.
Though Norman shared the lighthearted video to bring positivity among his fans, he later shared a much more serious note, promoting social distancing to avoid getting affected by COVID-19. “Let’s all do our part. If we do, we save lives and livelihoods”, wrote the Shark. It’s been three years since Norman’s positive message for his fans, and things seem to get much better for the people in terms of overcoming the pandemic.
