The WM Phoenix Open is in full swing! The event has had a history of going against the Super Bowl since 1973. This year, however, it also has LIV Golf Las Vegas against it. While fans would believe the event dating back to the 1930s would hold its ground, it has fallen to a simple phenomenon.

That phenomenon is none other than the severe weather conditions troubling the event. After the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, this has become the second PGA Tour event to have trouble with the weather. In a recent update from the Tour, “The second round at the WM Phoenix Open was suspended at 7:52 AM due to unplayable course conditions.”

The participating players were put on hold for the time being. Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the third round is also not expected to be in favor of the WM Phoenix Open.

In the weather predictions for Saturday, there is a 25–30 percent chance of rain. Furthermore, there are high chances of a thunderstorm with rain after noon. The winds will also be picking up pace, ranging from 6 to 12 miles per hour. With these adverse conditions, the fans have taken shots at the PGA Tour.

The PGA Tour faces the fury of golf fans over the WM Phoenix Open.

While all these conditions are not in the control of the PGA Tour, the fans have taken shots at Jay Monahan and Co. for mismanaging the second round of the WM Phoenix Open. The second round was resumed at 7:34 AM after troubling rains. However, it was stopped after a mere 20 minutes, and play was suspended.

This fact has angered fans over the mismanagement, with many wondering why.

With the weather troubling the event, a fan asked to just cancel the event like Pebble Beach if similar conditions continue.

One fan had a rather radical approach, demanding a new commissioner, director of operations, and tournament director!

Another fan pointed out that these conditions provide an unfair disadvantage to players. He urged WM Phoenix Open to do a “shotgun start” instead.

In all these adverse conditions, humor still finds its way. A fan cheekily said they thought god controlled the weather, just to realize the Saudis are behind it.
