The FedEx St. Jude Champion of 2022 has been away from golf since early this season, taking a break to recover from surgery. It has been more than half a year and it looks like he might be closer to getting back into the competitive space again.

The 27-year-old recently showed up swinging his club, and from the looks of it, he seems quite himself. A video of him swinging the ball confidently came up online on Saturday. He was earlier seen with the golf legend Tiger Woods as well. And these appearances have injected hopes into the fans.

Where was Will Zalatoris spotted?

As the Teams of Utah and South Carolina were battling it out on the first day of the PGA Jr Championship league, Will Zalatoris joined the teens to support them and cheer them on. Golf content creator Roger Steele also attended the event. Zalatoris has posted the experience on his Instagram and has thanked Steele for the fun banter.

Now, a few hours ago, a video of him swinging it big while being on the course was uploaded as a story on Instagram. Zalatoris has shared the story as well. He looked quite comfortable and confident as he swung his club, instilling confidence in the viewers.

Twitter page NUCLRGOLF had shared the video and captioned it: “🚨🤕🏌️‍♂️After undergoing back surgery earlier this year, Will Zalatoris looks to be close to making his return to the PGA Tour.” If they are right it would be pretty cool, wouldn’t it?

This is not the only recent public appearance of Will Zalatoris on a golf course. Earlier last month, he was spotted in the company of one of the greatest golfers of all time, the legendary Tiger Woods, who has been recovering himself from injury and subsequent surgery.

The two of them had a casual day out on a golf course, where they tested out their swings and shots, thrilling their fans not a little.

Zalatoris was spotted at the Nexus Cup

About a month ago, during mid-September, Tiger Woods had organized a teaching clinic as part of the Nexus Cup arrangements. The Nexus Cup is a tournament hosted for the benefit of amateur golfers to nurture their talent and encourage them.

Rickie Fowler and Will Zalatoris joined Woods for an evening. Will Zalatoris was glad he could spend time with the golf legend. He appreciated Woods’ contributions to society, especially in the golf scene. There too, the 27-year-old took some swings and tested his form a bit.

Before his injury distracted him, he was rising in the golf world quite fast. Last year, in the Fedex St.Jude Championship, Will Zalatoris channeled his inner magic and sped ahead of World number 1 Scottie Scheffler in the Fedex Cup points. Around April this year, his surgery took him away from the course. We hope both the gentlemen soon return to competing in the mainstream tournaments and entertain us the way they used to!

For someone who has avidly followed sports even before I joined Essentially Sports, my transition to a golf writer has been immensely exciting. The sport has a certain calmness to it that attracts me. Much like every golf enthusiast. I, too, have many favorites in the golf world. Max Homa's humor makes me laugh, Rory McIlroy's intensity makes me curious, while Celine Boutier's awkwardness helps me relate more to these athletes and the sport, and Nelly Korda's smile just always mesmerizes me! Hence, diving in depth into all their lives and more is more than a joyous experience.
