The creator and producer of ‘The Match’ is Bryan Zuriff, a Hollywood producer. The idea of the masterpiece came into his mind from a core memory of his childhood, The Skins Game.

As we know, ‘The Match’ started off in 2018. It features major professional golfers or other notable athletes facing each other in a head-to-head competition.

Mickelson was a significant part of the same in its initial three cycles. However, he was excluded from the scene after he decided to shift to LIV Golf. Hence, Mickelson no longer associates with it.

Zuriff said, “Phil was a phenomenal partner and he helped build this thing. But he has taken a different path.”

However, he also acknowledged how ‘The Match’ is actively doing business with the PGA Tour and the consequences Mickelson’s choice has brought upon him.

He added, “We’re in business with the PGA Tour.”

Phil holds an incomparable set of highly polished skills. The Lefty’s mastery of his game is unmatched.

Mickelson decided to move to LIV Golf this year. His decision triggered a lot of opinions from the world of golf. Mickelson explained the reason for his move.

He said, “This new path is a fresh start, one that is exciting for me at this stage of my career and is clearly transformative.”

Phil talked about how this allowed him to have the time and energy to introspect. He also got the gift of time to be present for the people he was close with and cared about.

Phil’s move was significantly criticized by the entirety of the golf world. Considering Phil’s long-lasting legacy, his decision was accounted as a case of self-sabotaging the aforementioned.

However, the pro golfer chooses to stand by his decision and is working continuously to make LIV his new home.

Even though the journey has not been the simplest, Phil Mickelson is fighting all odds and pouring in his best in the game of golf.
