Phil Mickelson’s heartfelt tribute to Arnold Palmer
Mickelson is known for many things among his fans. He recently became the world’s highest-paid golfer according to Forbes. However, it does not affect his down-to-earth approach toward his fans as well as his idols. Lefty has been a huge fan of Arnold Palmer since his early years in golf. And in 2019, he posted a video on Twitter where he talked about how Palmer inspired his game.

Mickelson started a series of videos on Twitter called “Tribute Tuesday”, where he talked about everyone that inspired him in his life. In a video, Mickelson talked about one of his favorite ex-professional golfers, Arnold Palmer. It was Palmer’s 90th birthday and Mickelson said kind words about the former golf star.

“I’ll never forget the interactions that we’ve had, the way he’d look you in the eye, the charisma that he had,” said Mickelson about Palmer. He also highlighted how Palmer took out extra time to greet volunteers. Lefty said, “He took two hours during the practice rounds, to shake hands with all the volunteers and thank them for their time to make that event possible”.

Phil Mickelson appreciated Arnold Palmer’s values
Continuing about Palmer, Mickelson said, “Little gestures like that always stood in the back of my mind about what a great man he was”. It’s not hard to understand where Mickelson got his inspiration from for being humble with the fans. He continued, “I wanna thank Arnold Palmer for the impact he’s made in life and the game of golf.”
