The LIV Golf Invitational Series is through with a few events and a lot of golfers have joined in leaving behind their PGA Tour careers. Greg Norman has successfully lured some of the most talented players to play in the Saudi-funded league. Even the former POTUS, Donald Trump, came forward to shake hands with Norman and offered to host some LIV events at his golf club.

The golf world reacts to LIV’s comparison to Ryder Cup by commentators

Golf fans on Twitter could not stop laughing when a video of commentators, talking about the atmosphere at LIV Golf events, went viral. People made absolute fun of the rather biased and untrue statements made by commentators during the game. Some even called it a “joke” when the commentators said“It does have a USA against Europe Ryder Cup feel to it”.

There were almost no fans present to watch the event live on the field. To some Twitter users, it looked like a “full-blown COVID atmosphere with total lockdown”. Here are a few fan reactions to the viral video:

Two-time Masters champion joins the LIV Golf league

The 43-year-old, Bubba Watson, has become the latest golfer to join the Saudi-funded LIV Golf League. His name was announced on the LIV broadcast on Friday from Donald Trump’s Bedminster. He is currently suffering from a knee injury and is not expected to play until next year.

Watson was a part of the Saudi International earlier in 2022. His name has been linked to LIV Golf Series for a long time now. However, there was no official news about him joining the series until Friday. Bubba Watson has been an essential member of the PGA Tour and has made many records playing PGA events.

He also played in four Ryder Cups along with two Presidents Cups representing USA. He is currently in the 17th season of his career playing on the PGA Tour. Although, Watson joining the LIV Tour has made it even more complicated to know if more players are still to shake hands with Norman. Watson has not given any statement about his reasons behind joining the LIV Tour. Nonetheless, he should be aware that according to Jay Monahan’s statement, he will no longer be able to play on the PGA Tour.
