Who is Russell Henley’s wife?

Russell Henley’s wife is Teil Duncan Henley. She was born in 1988, now 37, in Columbus, Georgia. The mother of three completed her high school at Brookstone High School, Columbus, Georgia, where she got the exposure for a creative career.

She credits her grandmother and her high school teacher for recognizing her creative skills. “My grandmother suggested I create a collection of paintings, and she would host a showing in her home. The show was a great success, which introduced me to the idea of working toward an art career,” she said in an interview with Synovus.

When she was in eighth grade, her art teacher noticed her skills and encouraged her to pursue an art degree. Thus, she attended Auburn University in Alabama and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.

She graduated in 2010 and has now excelled in the field of contemporary art. Duncan is an artist based out of her studio in Columbus. She got inspired by light, movement, pattern, and color combination. With her expertise in the field, she wishes to infuse these elements and create unique compositions and abstracts.

Along with her work as a contemporary artist, back in 2019, she released a book named The Color Teil: Life, Work and Inspiration. Even recently, in 2024, she extended her portfolio into another industry, i.e., interior design. The Teil Textil and Wallpaper is a unique venture of the artist, which offers design ideas for the home, including wallpapers and coverings that can elevate the interiors.

How Russell Henley met Teil Duncan

The duo first met in 2013 during Teil’s sister’s and Russell’s longtime friend’s wedding. The couple, after meeting, started to bond, and in four months, they began dating. Recalling the initial days of dating, Teil said, “He’s had me laughing from day one, so we’ve never struggled to have fun in mundane situations.”

The bond kept growing, and ten months after their first date, the golfer proposed to the artist on the Pitt Street Bridge in Mount Pleasant, S.C. The answer yes from Duncan was then turned into a final vow on October 30th, 2015. The duo married in front of their family and friends in Charleston, S.C., and moved back to Teil’s hometown, considering the struggle and complications in Teil’s professional life.

Russell Henley and Teil Duncan have a son and two daughters. On April 3, 2018, the pair welcomed their first child, Robert Russell Henley. Later, they welcomed their daughter Ruth Teil Henley on June 14, 2019. Most recently, the family got extended to five by welcoming their youngest daughter, Jane Edith Henley, on June 4, 2022.

After welcoming the kids, Teil admitted that her creativity found new light. She said, “I honestly don’t know how, maybe it was hormones? Motherhood just taps into so many new parts of your brain, so maybe it opened up new, creative pathways for me.” But away from that, the family of five has been each other’s strong support. Recently, during the Masters, the family was seen wearing the bibs and supporting Henley.

Teil is a visible supporter of her husband. She is seen attending many of his tournaments, especially in the last days. For instance, she was seen at the 2017 Shell Houston Open, where Russell claimed his PGA Tour victory.

The art enthusiast has also celebrated many of Russell’s other victories on golf courses, including his Arnold Palmer Invitational win in March 2025. Russell has also said how supportive she has been of him and his career. “She’s tough on me when she needs to be and just super supportive … I just feel so loved by her,” Russell Henley said after his win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

She has also already made plans to attend the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, as Russell marks his debut on the biennial event.

The golfer’s wife, with her social media, has maintained a strong balance between her professional and personal life. With an open account, Teil has more than 2200 posts on Instagram and a great following of 114K. Interestingly, she has posted about family time, activities, and other moments to cherish. Additionally, she has also shared a post of her work, paintings, abstract art, and her interior design venture as well.
