Following the conclusion of the first major of the season, LIV Golf is returning! That too with a bang in Adelaide. Remarked as the most successful event of 2023, the pressure on the upcoming event is surely there. To make it one of the best again, LIV Golf is continuing to introduce new changes.

According to @LIVGolfUpdates on X, LIV Golf recently unveiled an elevated driving range, possibly named “Flight Deck.” However, with this change came a wave of questioning regarding the circuit, referencing past incidents. The “Flight Deck” is custom-built to provide fans with the chance to meet their favorite pros.

To facilitate this, specific pros from the teams will be warming up on the deck. Meanwhile, enthusiasts will have the opportunity to observe the pros up close and also receive merchandise and other VIP experiences. The ideation behind this as per Nick Haslam, LIV tournament director is, “It’s all about more access for more people. You can see how close these stands are to the fairway. All over the course, there will be an opportunity for fans to get super close to the action.”

The golf world seems to be excited about the upcoming LIV event. A Golf author, and podcaster, Ellidy Pullin also talked about the forthcoming event, and said, “The atmosphere and vibe leading up to this event is just so fun, I can’t wait. I’m so excited…It’s a family-friendly affair, the perfect opportunity for anyone interstate to travel down to Adelaide and get amongst the live music and golf spectacle. It’s so affordable, you get to see amazing artists like FISHER, Tones and I, Flight Facilities. I think it’s just so great that it’s open for all.”

While the changes made on the greens aim to enhance the overall fan experience, LIV Golf remains committed to innovation. CEO Greg Norman recently decided to unveil a new team of officials to the world to up the Saudi-circuit’s game. However, the introduction of the Flight Deck has sparked differing opinions among enthusiasts. Moreover, given the incident involving LIV Golf’s watering hole at 12 in 2023, will this be a better experience as compared to what happened last year?

What happened at LIV Golf watering hole 12?

In 2023, at LIV Golf Adelaide, Chase Koepka made the breakaway league’s first hole-in-one, resulting in fans showering him with beer in celebration. However, while this appeared to be a joyous moment for enthusiasts, there is also a darker side to this historic event. After the celebration, significant damage was inflicted on the greens of Grange Golf Club. The subsequent lack of adequate compensation caused anguish among the club’s enraged members.

Initially, members are required to pay a one-time fee of $7500 to become members. Subsequently, they are charged an annual fee of $4,000 to tee up on the greens. However, after the incident, the greens were left in ruins, and all their efforts and investments seemed futile when they saw the aftermath of the damaged course. The watering hole incident is likely still fresh in the minds of members, and now LIV Golf has introduced a deck for the enjoyment of the fans.
