As of October 2022, Fowler sits comfortably on a net worth of $40 million. His major source of income has come from his lifetime earnings on the PGA Tour.

His most productive year came in 2016 when he claimed more than $6 million in prize money winnings. It remains Fowler’s best season in terms of performance – he won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship that year alongside reaching his highest-ever position of 4th in World Golf rankings.

Across his career, Fowler has won three PGA Tour events, which include the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship, the 2015 Players Championship, the 2015 Deutsche Bank Championship, The Honda Classic in 2017, and the Phoenix Open in 2019.

While he has spent a considerable time on his home tour, Fowler has ventured into foreign lands as well. He holds a couple of victories at the Scottish Open and the above-mentioned Abu Dhabi Championship. He also triumphed in the Kolon Korean Open and the Hero World Challenge back in 2011 and 2017, respectively.

Fowler’s family background

Rickie ‘Yutaka’ Fowler was born on 13 December 1988 in California to Rodd and Lynn Fowler. Fowler senior was a former competitive dirt bike rider who won the 1986 Baja 1000 racing for a Yamaha team. Unfortunately, an accident forced him to give up on bike racing, but he learned golf from his grandfather, which he passed on to his son Rickie.

The young prodigy would soon tear up the junior golf circuits. He attended Oklahoma State University and won the Walker Cup with the United States team. Fowler also won Sunnehanna Amateur twice and the Players Amateur, for which he was awarded the prestigious Ben Hogan Award, which proclaimed him as the best college golf player in the country. This was a defining moment for him, which put the young golfer in the spotlight and upped the stakes for his future.

Interestingly, his middle name derives from his maternal grandfather, who is Japanese. Fowler also has roots in indigenous America – his maternal grandmother is a Navajo Native American.

Fowler’s extensive endorsements

Apart from his PGA Tour earnings, Fowler has created a unique impression of himself on a relatively plain and traditional game. Back in his early days, Fowler used his style to make a statement, which has since prompted a host of sponsors to vie for his contract.

Some of his endorsement deals include companies such as Puma, Rolex, Titleist, and TaylorMade. He also owns a residence in Jupiter, Florida, where he has a four-bedroom, 4,600 square feet mansion worth $2.85 million. Fowler also invested in another property in Florida for a mind-boggling fee of $14 million in 2016.

While Rickie has achieved so much already in his career, the only thing missing from his closet is a Major Championship title. Still only 33, fans will hope that a refusal to LIV Golf will add to the golfer’s determination to secure his first major silverware in the years to come.
