Inspired by the magical memories of that triumphant day, Vu decided to name her adorable ragdoll cat after the very place where her dreams were realized.

In a pre-tournament press conference, when a reporter asked about her furry friend, Vu’s face lit up with a radiant smile. As she shared with Asaptext, her response was filled with affection: “He’s so good. He’s at my grandma’s house being a ruckus, but I just love him so much.” Walton the cat has become more than just a pet; he symbolizes Lilia’s triumph and serves as a constant reminder of the joy and hard work that led to her success.

Her 2023 AIG Women’s Open victory was a testament to her skill and perseverance. She carded a remarkable five-under 67 to win by six shots, securing her second major of the year. I want a girl, maybe Andie, she said with a smile. I was thinking about it on the course today.It seems that Lilia’s love for golf and her furry friends will continue to go hand in hand, inspiring her to new heights in golf.

The World No.2 golfer will be eyeing her third major, and a win at the AIG Women’s Open would be the perfect achievement. However, her injury woes have been a concern, particularly her back issues that have plagued her since her 2023 major victory.

Notably, Lilia Vu had to withdraw from the Chevron Championship in April 2024, which she won last year as her first major.  Nevertheless, she remains optimistic about her chances. Building on her determination to overcome adversity a new challenge awaits her at the Home of Golf, from August 21-25.
