Bryson DeChambeau recently revealed and confirmed speculation about the reasons for his rift with Tiger Woods. As was speculated, things went downhill between the pro golfers after DeChambeau signed the multi-million dollar deal with the Saudi-backed LIV golf.

Tiger Woods, who chose to stick to the PGA tour, had his reservations about players opting to shift to the LIV golf. He said, “The players who have chosen to go to LIV and to play there, I disagree with it. I think they’ve turned their back on what has allowed them to get to this position. Some of these players may not ever get a chance to play in major championships. That is a possibility that some players will never, ever get a chance to play in a major championship, never get a chance to experience this right here, walk down the fairways at Augusta National. That, to me, I just don’t understand it.’’

DeChambeau, on the other hand, termed his decision to defect from the PGA tour to LIV golf as a personal business decision. To people criticizing his move, he said, “I have ultimate respect for what he has to say. For me personally, to be my own human being, I’m going to work even harder to prove the fact that I’m worth the price.” 

DeChambeau and Woods: The good times and the bad

DeChambeau and Woods shared a friendly bond with one another for a long time. The duo started their friendship on a positive note and held one another in high regard.

However, ever since Bryson defected to LIV golf, the air between them is colder than ever. As Bryson found “more time to rest” with his new personal business decision, Tiger was quick to make his contentions clear. No one knows, as of now, how things will turn out between ‘the scientist’ and Woods. Only time will tell if the tension between the two will clear up.
