When Nelly Korda and Her Sister Jessica Gushed About Their Celebrity Crushes

After the Pelican Women’s Championship, Nelly Korda regained her top spot on the Rolex Women’s World Rankings. World’s no. 1 golfer or not, the American is a 24-year-old and has the likes and dislikes of similar-aged girls. And she proved it while appearing in a podcast with her elder sister and fellow LPGA player, Jessica Korda. 

“Liam Hemsworth.” The youngest of the Korda sisters didn’t hesitate a moment before naming the Australian actor’s name as her celebrity crush growing up. Meanwhile, the eldest, who thought her sister would name the High School Musical actor, Zac Efron, named Adam Scott as hers.  

Notably, the top 2 players among American female golfers appeared as guests in Gary Williams’ ‘Five Clubs’ podcast in March 2022. Along with their game strategies and different personalities, the interviewer also asked them about their personal preferences in the fun corner ‘Rapid Fire Round’ at the end of the video. 

The golfing sisters have not just one but plenty of celebrity crushes

Mysterio from Spider-Man: Far From Home, Jake Gyllenhaal, the Deadpool actor, Ryan Reynolds….the host of the Five Clubs podcast, Gary Williams, had to intervene to stop Nelly and Jessica Korda from naming more actors they consider their celebrity crushes.

“There’s one answer,” the host said to the golf professionals. When he further added, “it’s not like a staple full of guys,” the playful 24-year-old was quick to answer, “yeah, we’ll give you a list.” 

Nelly Korda burst into tears after winning her first LPGA Tour event in the season

Nelly Korda, who has won a major and Olympic gold before, wasn’t able to win an LPGA event this season. And when she won it by defeating Lexi Thompson with a one-shot lead, she couldn’t control her emotions. 

Her tears at the end of the event were evidence that she missed winning a Tour event. “Honestly, amazing,” she said as she regained the world’s no. 1 spot after winning the event. “It’s been a tough year,” she added. “…It feels really good to be on top.” 

Notably, Korda hasn’t been playing their best golf for a long time. She got infected with the coronavirus at the beginning of the year. Moreover, she got diagnosed with a clot in her subclavian vein, which forced her to undergo surgery. 

The unexpected medical issues led her to take a long time off from playing golf. However, Korda could regain her golf in the end and rose back to her top spot in the Rolex standings. It proves that she is twice as focused on golf even after sustaining injuries and surgeries, which displays nothing but fortitude in the face of her adversities.
