Tiger Woods is known for his professionalism on and off the course. The golf legend tries to stay calm and collected even when facing grueling questions from media professionals during press meets. However, there was a time when he couldn’t help but break his usual mannerism after encountering an unexpected person at a press conference.

“The U.S. Open is usually one of the most grueling weeks of golf,” the reporter from the golf website, back9network, asked during the 2013 U.S. Open press meet. “So what would you do off the course in order to be at ease and relax?”

The question was all needed for Woods to make him giggle like a child. “Didn’t expect that,” he said while laughing before answering the question.

Notably, it was not the question that took him by surprise but the reporter who asked the question that led him to lose his usual professionalism. After all, it was his niece who asked him the question.

Tiger Woods surprised his niece with a dinner date while answering her question

After getting used to the fact that it is, in fact, his half-niece, Cheyenne Woods, that’s asking the question, the golfer answered her question. “Well, off the course, we have a great crew at the house, and we’re going to have fun,” he said.

It was evident that the daughter of his half-brother, Earl Woods Jr., wanted to pull a simple prank on him by questioning him without warning. Therefore, the 82-time PGA Tour champion also didn’t want to lose his chance to do the same.

“Tomorrow, make sure you’re… was it 6:30 dinner? Is that all right? OK. Perfect,” the golfer asked his half-niece in the middle of the interview. Although it was simple, his nature to pull a joke in between an interview to entertain his family member was nothing but a sweet gesture from Woods.

What does Cheyenne Woods do for a living?

Cheyenne Woods, the 32-year-old half-niece of Tiger Woods, is a professional golfer. However, at the time of her press meet experience with Woods, she was working as a writer for a USA Today-affiliated online website for golf.

Notably, she turned pro in 2014 and earned herself an LPGA Tour ticket a year later. Although Woods has won 82 PGA Tour championships, Cheyenne hasn’t won any.

They might not share the same fate in terms of their career. However, the small interaction they shared during the 2013 U. S. Open was more than enough to realize the bond they have.
