Phil Mickelson has been out of the scenes for quite some time now. The six-time major championship winner decided to take some time away from golf. Moreover, with events passing by one question still remains unanswered. When will the 45-time PGA Tour winner make his comeback?

When will Phil Mickelson play again?

Since Mickelson’s apology on February 23rd, the 51-year-old professional has taken time away from golf. They Lefty decided to take time off from golf after he received backlash for his comments on the Saudi Golf League and on the PGA Tour. It has been almost a month since he has not played a single event on the Tour. Moreover, he is also not a part of the field next week at the World Golf Championship, Dell Match Play.

Further, with making his last appearance on the PGA Tour at the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open, the lefty’s fans eagerly wait to see him hit bombs off-the-tee.

The Masters is just around the corner and begins from April, 7th. Augusta can be a perfect stage for Mickelson to make a comeback to golf. The event is probably one of his favorites and the lefty has shown his dominance at the event as well.

Moreover, he has won the event three times back in 2004, 2006, and 2010, so he has various fond memories associated with the event. Being his first major win. Even, Alan Shipnuck, the person who revealed Phil’s controversial comments on Mickelson also has the same idea. He says, “Yes, I think that will be his first tournament back…”

Apart from his past, the event itself will help him to make a comeback. In the sense that it has a calm environment. With the print media and event, the spectators showcase their best behaviors. However, only time will tell when will the 51-year-old professional will come back and whether it will be Augusta National where he plays after a long time.

Mickelson’s first green jacket

The World Golf Hall of Fame member for the first time at Augusta back in 2004. Phil won his first-ever green jacket in an emphatic fashion with an overall score of nine-under-par. He carded a final round of 69, three-under-par on his route to victory on Sunday. As a result, he won the event with a one-shot lead. He also prizes money share worth $1,170,000. Ernie Els finished as the runner-up to Phil with an overall score of eight-under-par.
