Tiger Woods’ potential comeback

While Woods hasn’t updated us with a timeline of his recovery yet, it seems like the 15-time Major Championship winner is eyeing a return in the latter months of the year. Woods hosts the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, which is slated to be played from the first of December.

There’s also the option of the PNC Championship, which Woods has played on the last two occasions. The event will be played at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando from December 17-18. He teed up with his son on both occasions, finishing runners-up last time out.

In any case, we should be able to see the golf legend back in action before the new year. Woods will be eyeing to warm up before the Major Championships next year, with an eye for the ultimate prize. He currently stands three majors down to Jack Nicklaus, who holds the record for the most Major Championships won, with 18.

How did Woods get injured in the first place?

Tiger has been a victim of accidents before, but the one in February 2021 was a near-fatal one. Woods was driving a 2021 Genesis GV80 on Hawthorne Boulevard when he struck a tree, his vehicle rolling up several times before it stopped dead.

The immediate aid included an operation to insert a rod into his tibia and stabilize his ankle with pins. The injuries gravely affected Woods, the repercussions of which are being felt even today. His leg has been surgically repaired and has visible changes, but that hasn’t stopped Tiger from quitting the game.

During the whole fiasco, the police mentioned that he was “lucky to be alive”. Seems like there is one final hurrah left after all from the biggest icon in the game’s history.
