Paige Spiranac has gained millions of followers all over her social media platforms. Though she struggled in her playing days, it’s safe to say Spiranac’s social media career is booming. This has resulted in her receiving loads of love from her fans on the internet. However, things weren’t always a bed of roses for Spiranac. In her early days, she suffered a lot of cyberbullying which even made her break down during a press conference way back in 2016.

The 29-year-old then shared how some of the comments were aimed at her parents. “They attack not only me but my parents, my family, my friends, and you know, they say I’m a disgrace to golf … it’s really hard.”

Spiranac’s struggle with cyberbullying is not new to athletes. Since the emergence of social media, anyone can have an opinion and share it online without a thought. Among happy and supportive comments, there might be vile ones too, often racist, sexist, or offensive.

The 2022 Maxim’s Sexiest Woman Alive wrote, “It’s hard seeing people being more successful than you, happier than you, looking the way you want to look. My anxiety spirals when I start comparing myself to other people. Here’s what I do when I’m feeling anxious,”

She aimed to help those out who suffered similarly. Paige offered her top three suggestions for managing anxiety.

The first was that she began each day with a tincture – the result of soaking items like bark, berries, and roots in alcohol or vinegar in a concentrated herbal extract. When chamomile is used this could be particularly helpful. She wrote that “I honestly can’t go without it or else my anxiety is out of control.”

Spiranac’s second step was to “Take a second to stop and just breathe! When I’m anxious I start to speed up and my mind races so stopping and resetting really helps.” Her final step was to put on a nice dress that makes her feel confident when her anxiety is bad.

It’s great to see people like Paige Spiranac using social media platforms to share about their mental health concerns, and inspiring others to be strong.
