The wedding of Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren

The golf ace got married to Elin Nordegren on the 5th of October, 2004. Nordegren, the bride, entered in a beautiful sleeveless white gown, and Woods had a beige suit on. The golfer was 28 years old at the time of his marriage, while Nordegren was 24. Both of them exchanged their vows at 5:40 pm, according to the local time.

The two got married at the Sandy Lane Resort in Barbados. The ceremony took place inside a pagoda, which was decorated with 500 red roses. Woods had booked the whole resort for a week. The resort includes a luxury hotel, an area with a spectacular beachfront, and two golf courses, along with their clubhouses. There were no photos of the wedding as the couple didn’t release any on social media. The venue was covered with tall trees and plants, so no one could see things from outside. Even the media that tried to cover the event were stopped by security. 

How much did Woods spend on the wedding?

According to reports, Tiger Woods spent around $1.5 million on his wedding. Woods was so adamant about not allowing any pictures to be taken that he booked every charter helicopter in Barbados so they could not be used by the paparazzi!

The couple invited nearly 120 guests, including Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan from the basketball fraternity. There were reports that even Oprah Winfrey was present at the wedding. But it was not true, as Winfrey later confirmed that she didn’t attend the wedding and was not known to Tiger Woods at the time.

The marriage of Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren did not work out, and the two split up in 2010. Woods and Nordegren have two kids together, Sam and Charlie. But neither Woods nor Nordegren have married anyone else yet.
