Nelly Korda’s blistering form from last year seems to have cooled down this season. Despite playing six events and notching up three top-10 finishes, she hasn’t managed to clinch a single title. Her recent outing at the Mizuho Americas Open ended with a tie for fifth place. With her impressive winning streak last year now a distant memory, Korda’s fans eagerly await her return to form after her amazing SI Swimsuit debut. Korda, too, will surely be looking for a victory at the next tournament she plays, but which one is it?

The US Women’s Open 2025 is just around the corner, and Korda will be looking to make a strong impression at Erin Hills in Erin, Wisconsin, from May 29 to June 1. She has a mixed record at the tournament, including three missed cuts in ten starts. Her best finish was a tie for eighth in 2022, but she wasn’t really in contention in finishing 11 shots back of winner Minjee Lee. Korda will be keen to turn her fortunes around. Last year, she shot 80 and 70 to miss the cut, a performance she’d rather forget.

Korda’s upcoming schedule is packed too. After the US Women’s Open, she will play in three more major championships. She will also play her first-ever Women’s Scottish Open. She’ll also be playing the FM Championship and the CPKC Women’s Open in Canada in August.

With the US Women’s Open title within reach, Korda knows she’ll need to elevate her game, and she’s pinpointed exactly where to focus her efforts.

Nelly Korda knows where her game is ‘lacking’

Nelly Korda is gearing up for the US Women’s Open, and she’s aware that her putting needs to improve. “What I achieved last year, no one can take that from me,” Korda had said before the 2025 Chevron Championship. “That’s always going to be such a great memory, but it’s a fresh week and a fresh mindset.”  Korda eventually finished tied for T14 with Lexi Thompson with a score of 2 under par.

Korda’s main concern is her putting, which she believes has been lacking. “Just need my putter to click a little bit more to make those putts,” she said, per the Associated Press. “I think that’s where it’s been lacking, is the putts that I was making last year I’m just not making as many this year.” Despite her statistics showing a solid putting performance, averaging 1.71 putts per green in regulation and 29.17 putts per round, Korda knows she needs to find her rhythm to succeed. “That’s just golf,” she said. “I’ve gone through waves like this before, and if I just continue working at it, hopefully, it does click.”
