10 years after his father’s demise, we mostly found Tiger hidden behind multiple layers of security. He usually spent most of his time alone, away from the media. Once, in an interview, he poured his heart out about some bizarre experiences.

Tiger Woods and his golfing career

The golf career of Tiger Woods was fading. He was still living in a cocoon and two months had passed since Woods hit a ball at a golf course. Woods asked his friend Michael Jordan, a very heavy question. He asked when Jordan realized it was time to walk away. This was coming from the G.O.A.T. of golf, and it was gut-wrenching to see Woods this way. He told Times Magazine about an incident when he fell on the ground without a cell phone and was helpless until his daughter found him.

Three months after the incident, Woods had two back surgeries. During the interview in 2016, he prompted that his golf career might be over, which came as a shock to his fans. After his surgeries, he missed out being on the golf course. The interviewer asked about his exercise regime, to which he replied, “I walk,” he said. He smiled and added, “I walk and I walk some more.”

After this, there was a pause, and then Woods asked himself, “Where is the light at the end of the tunnel?” and he replied, “I don’t know. I think pretty much everything beyond this will be gravy.”

Before Woods’ 40th birthday

It was early December, 28 days before his 40th birthday, and we only saw Woods on the far western end of an island in the Bahamas. He could be seen standing with two or three friends in the dark. His annual tournament was set to happen on a course nearby. Both of his boats were floating a few dozen yards away from the island.
