Scottie Scheffler may be a good round away from winning the 2023 WM Phoenix Open. However, when it comes to his personal life, the golfer has been winning from a very young age, thanks to his adoring parents. As Scheffler looks to bag home the $3.6 million from the ongoing PGA Tour event, let’s take a look at who the parents of the former world number one are.

Scheffler has been the leader at the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course for the past two days. However, his prominence in the PGA Tour rose from last year when he stunned everyone with amazing performances. He won four events last year which also included the 2022 Masters.

The top-notch form helped him reach the number-one position in golf rankings. However, none of this could have been achieved if it wasn’t for his parent’s hard work and sacrifices. As Scheffler has gained the love and respect of the golf world, let’s take a look at who his parents are.

The secret behind the success of Scottie Scheffler – his parents

Though he currently may be a resident of Dallas, Scheffler was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey to Diane And Scott Scheffler. His mother, Diane, worked at the law firm, Thompson and Knight, as the Chief Operating Officer. She at times even worked 7 days a week while her father was a stay-at-home dad taking care of Scottie and his three sisters.

Since the senior Scheffler got to spend a lot more time with his son, Scottie began playing the sport he would later master from a very young age. He began swinging a golf club at the age of three after his parents gifted him plastic clubs and balls. Nonetheless, three years later, a 6-year-old Scottie Scheffler moved to Dallas with his parents.

It was after shifting to the capital of Texas that Scheffler’s aspiration to become a pro golfer turned serious. Scott and Diane considered enrolling their son at The Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas to practice golf regularly. Unfortunately, they could not afford the exorbitant fees of the country club.

Nonetheless, being the loving parents that they are, the Schefflers borrowed money to fund their son’s membership at the notable club. Despite the huge investment, his parents didn’t stop Scottie from exploring other sports. He played basketball, football, and many others until he realized it was golf that he adored the most.

The future world number one continued his journey and his father was aware of it. Senior Scheffler was his biggest supporter during his journey to the top. At times, the aspiring young golfer would practice his golf swings at the Bergen County Community College Campus at night. Since the lights were off because it was nighttime, Scott Scheffler would hold a flashlight so his son could complete his practice.

The sacrifice and hard work of the Schefflers finally met its end result last year, when Scottie wore the Green Jacket for the first time. The heartwarming moment brought joy to many while bringing tears to others.

Mr. Scheffler is proud of his son

Many consider the 2021-22 PGA Tour season as Scottie Scheffler’s season. The golfer outperformed rest of the field in most of the events. However, it was the Major at Augusta National that left the silver lining. Scheffler won the 2022 Masters with three strokes after a total score of 10-under-par.

Following his big win, Scottie received four beautiful words from his father which every child wishes to hear one day. “Proud of you, buddy”, said Mr. Scheffler before congratulating his son on winning his maiden Major.

As the realm of Scottie Scheffler goes much further, his father may have plenty of more instances to share the same words with his son. Regardless of what the future holds for Scottie, he has won the ultimate Major of his life, making his parents proud.
