Brooke Matthews is making waves on the LPGA Tour. Although she has not bagged any title yet, she has consistently improved her Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Having started her rookie year in 2022 at below 1000, she now stands at 129 on the list. At 27, she’s turning heads with her precision on the greens, which has golfers and fans talking. But before she was making headlines on the LPGA Tour, her story began in Arkansas.

Born and raised in Rogers, Arkansas, Matthews began playing golf at the age of 12. She played multiple sports, including softball and competitive gymnastics, before deciding to focus on golf. Matthews attended the University of Arkansas, where she had a distinguished collegiate golf career.

Brooke Matthews’ journey from collegiate golf to pro and beyond
According to the Arkansas Razorbacks website, former Razorback Philip Walker influenced her decision to join and play at Arkansas. Since she became a redshirt, her golf skills have only improved. As a freshman in the 2018-2019 season, she earned co-medalist honors with a 68 in the single round of stroke play at the Liz Murphey.
After making four wins as a freshman, she registered 3 top-30 finishes across 6 events in her sophomore year. Her best game was at the Cougar Classic, where she fired a 214 to tie for 16th place. By then, she was a regular in the Arkansas golf events.

Her first collegiate win came in her redshirt junior year. Participating in all 10 events, she finished in the top 10 four times, as a runner-up twice, and won the inaugural Blessings Collegiate Invitational. Besides that, she managed an exceptional stroke average of 72.46 throughout the season. While this would be enough for many collegiate golfers, Matthews was determined to achieve more. Entering the LPGA’s Northwest Arkansas Championship, she finished in the top 50 while competing with the professionals. She also made waves at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur by finishing in the top 30 and then receiving an invitation to represent Team USA for the Arnold Palmer Cup. During this time, she set the NCAA 54-hole record. She fired a 191 (63-64-64) at the Cougar Classic to beat the old record by 6 strokes. She also helped her team win at the Cougar Classic and the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, while winning individual medals at both events. In 2022, she earned the LPGA Tour card and began her professional career.
As a pro in 2022, Brooke Matthews played 15 events and made the cut in 4 of them. Her season-best finish was T10 at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational. She scored 71-62-71-60 to finish at 16 under par. In 2023, she starred on the Epson Tour, where she made 12 cuts in 18 starts.

It was in 2024 that her game became consistently strong. Continuing on the Epson Tour, she made 15 cuts in 18 events, while racking up 7 top 10 finishes. Her season-best score came at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship. She finished 5 under par to complete at 211 and tied in 2nd position with Jo-Hua Hung, Anita Uwadia, and Amelia Garvey. Thanks to her performance throughout the 2024 season, she finished 5th in the season-long race to earn the LPGA Tour card and earn the membership for 2025.
“That’s amazing news,” said Matthews about winning the LPGA Tour card. “It’s been a long season, I played a lot of really good golf, haven’t quite got the win yet, but I think this is my third or fourth top five, so I’m pretty happy with that. It just feels great. We work so hard, the competition so good out here, so it’s really rewarding to get this news.”
This year, she participated in 20 events, made cuts in 14 of them, and made it all the way to the top 10 one time. Her top 10 came at the recently finished 2025 Lotte Championship. She demonstrated strong putting skills and a focused approach. Her best round came on the second day, when she made 6 birdies and 1 bogey on Round 2.

Brooke Matthews maintains a relatively private personal life. But she is known to enjoy spending time with family and animals. Her Instagram account features many photos with parents, siblings, and cousins.
For instance, she once uploaded an image of herself, her father, Brittany Matthews, and Gweng Matthews to wish Merry Christmas to fans. The caption of the post read, “Merry Christmas from the Matthews!! (Nice sweater dad!!).”
Besides that, her Instagram also features some photos of a Phoenix Suns basketball game. She was wearing a Suns jersey, showing her support for the team. You can also find a wide range of photos from different events, which shows that Matthews likes to explore.

While Sahith Theegala is the biggest name associated with the Korn Ferry Tour, Matthews is one of the two women golfers who serve as ambassadors for the Korn Ferry Tour. The other one is Allisen Corpuz.
Apart from the Korn Ferry Tour, Matthews is also an ambassador for Fairway & Greene and Summit Golf Brand’s Zero Restriction. Zero Restriction was also the official sportswear sponsor for the 2024 U.S. Solheim Cup Team. She is also associated with Tyson Foods and ShopRite stores.
