Collin Morikawa had a glorious year in 2021 as he won a World Golf Championship, followed by the Open Championship and the DP World Tour Championship. The Race To Dubai title winner did not just have a great 2021 on the golf course, he had something to cherish off the course as well. He announced his engagement, in November 2021, to his long-time girlfriend, Katherine Zhu.

Last year when he was just 24 years old, the golfer grabbed his second major at Sandwich in July. His partner and then fiancée, Katherine, was the first person to congratulate him. She took to Instagram and wrote, “So incredibly proud of you!” And a few months later, the wedding bells were nearing as they got engaged. They announced it on Instagram with a beautiful picture. On Saturday, the 25-year-old PGA golfer Collin Morikawa exchanged vows with his long-time girlfriend, Katherine Zhu. The special guest at the ceremony was their dog, Koa. Katherine posted on Instagram a beautiful picture of the couple kissing each other and wrote, “11.26.22. A day we will remember forever.”

Katherine was born in Vancouver and finished her high school education in China. She earned multiple WGCA All-American honors while playing at the Pepperdine University for four years. Fans can often spot her caddying for her now husband. According to her, golf has taught her to be strong even during the most testing of times. 

On the other hand, the PGA golfer turned professional in 2019, after graduating from the University of California, Berkley. And just two years later, he got engaged to his girlfriend. Morikawa believes she is his lucky charm. Over the years, we have often seen him profusely praising his then-fiancee. In fact, after his grand success at the 2020 PGA Championship, he said, “I am very lucky to have her.” 

When did the couple meet?

The power couple of the golf world started dating in April 2017. Last year, they both shared an Instagram post to commemorate the three-year anniversary of their relationship. The pro golfer posted their first picture together and joked that one should not take their girlfriend to the rooftop restaurant if she was afraid of heights. The couple did not mind the public knowing about their blooming relationship. 

The couple loves going on dates together. You can spot them exploring cities whenever Morikawa plays a tournament. They also love wining and dining at plush restaurants, and if not that, we can see them at their favorite spot, a day on the beach.
