Hatton is currently winning hearts with his stellar performance at the 2023 Canadian Open. The golfer has been holding on to his T2 position despite the tough competition at the event. Moreover, he has left behind several talented players, including Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and many more.

But as they say, a golfer cannot simply win a tournament without a compatible caddie! And luckily, Hatton has just the right man for the job. Holding the bag for the English pro is Brian ‘Bo’ Martin. And believe it or not, the two are getting along pretty well at the tournament. Not to forget, Martin also caddied for Hatton at the Wells Fargo Championship in May, where the golfer made a strong T3 finish in the final round!

Clearly, Martin is undoubtedly one of the smartest and most suitable caddies any golfer could work with. For those who don’t know, Martin has also caddied for 2019 Open champion Shane Lowry for a long time. The two teamed up back in 2018 and enjoyed a pretty successful partnership for a few tournaments. In fact, the golf star won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and The Open Championship in 2019 with Martin on the bag. However, they ended up in a rough split after the Dubai Desert Classic in January after Lowry missed the cut!

Lucky for Hatton, Martin happily accepted the offer to work with the PGA Tour ace after ending his partnership with Lowry. Not to mention, Hatton was previously playing with Michael ‘Mick’ Donaghy as his man on the course. But it looks like his duo with Martin is inseparable!

Shane Lowry’s views about Brian Martin

Lowry was not at a very good place in his career when he found Martin. Notably, the golfer’s partnership worked like a charm in his tournaments with Martin as his caddie. It was during the 2018 Portugal Masters that Martin and Lowry decided to give their companionship a go. However, to the golfer’s surprise, Martin had a rather laid-back response to the offer and said, “Sure, look, we’ll do Portugal and see how it goes.”

But as it turned out, his gravitated outlook towards the opportunity was what drove Lowry to work with him in the first place. “He’s so chilled. He’s so relaxed. Maybe he isn’t inside, but he definitely comes across that way. Hopefully, we can do something special and enjoy it together,” the golf ace said.

But despite their 4-5-year long partnership, Lowry let go of his caddie after the 2023 Dubai Desert Classic, claiming that he was lacking a ‘spark’ with Martin. However, their split made things a lot better for Tyrrell Hatton, who is on the verge of winning the Canadian Open.
