Izzi Stricker has been making waves in the golfing world long before she committed to the 2023 PNC Championship. Coming from a family deeply rooted in the sport, Stricker’s journey has been a mix of both a continuation of tradition and a story of personal victory.

In 2022, transitioning to a new chapter of her golfing career, the 17-year-old chose to follow in the footsteps of her family—committing to the Wisconsin women’s golf program. This decision was more than just a choice of college; it was a nod to family ties. Her mother, Nicki, has been a four-year letterwinner for the Wisconsin women’s team, and her sister, Bobbi, has continued the legacy by walking onto the Badgers golf team and winning the Wisconsin Women’s Amateur Championship after graduation.

This year, in October, Stricker defended her title and secured a second win at the Wisconsin Girls State Championship. The golfer’s recent success at the WIAA Division 1 girls’ golf state tournament showcased her gaming cadence and her prowess. With a 1-over-par 73 for a total of 144, Stricker Jr. made a spectacle of skill that earned her coach Paul Miller’s praise.

However, the bittersweet taste of victory lingered as her team, the Waunakee Warriors, narrowly missed the team title by a mere two strokes, with the Milwaukee Divine Saviour Holy Angels (DSHA) claiming the Division 1 state title.

Outside of being a part of the recent tourneys as a golfer, in the last two years, Stricker has also taken part in a number of events with her father, assisting him as his caddie.

Steve Stricker’s daughter’s big debut on professional greens

The Stricker golf legacy extends beyond Izzi Stricker’s achievements. In May 2023, she made her debut on the pro golfing greens with her father, Steve Stricker, at the PGA Tour’s Senior Major. At the senior PGA Championship, which Steve Stricker won beautifully, the 17-year-old was on her father’s bag and debuted as his caddie.

Later on, the 56-year-old golfer shared that his daughter caddying for him was actually a birthday gift for her. Wuankee Warrior’s golfer shared that her caddie debut was actually a birthday gift, as her father was not at home for her birthday. Sharing the story, she wrote, “He called, and was like, ‘Hey, would you like to caddie for me at the PGA?’ So it’s a cool present.”
