Who is Andrew Dixon?

Andrew Dixon is a U.S. Marine Corps officer in the Reserves, but there’s much to him than the uniform. A Princeton graduate with a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, he was also the varsity football team’s quarterback and was awarded the Charles W. Caldwell Memorial Trophy. After college, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving four years on active duty followed by five more in the Marine Reserves.

After active duty service in the Marine Corps, Dixon transitioned into the tech world, where he co-founded Reveal Technology—a San Francisco-based startup building cutting-edge drone mapping and analytics tools. He is also the CEO of the startup, and he’s the kind of person who’s always thinking a few steps ahead, whether it’s in the field or in the tech space. Calm, driven, and deeply mission-oriented, Andrew has carved out a path that’s both purposeful and inspiring—one that perfectly complements the passion and dedication Kira brings to her own career in sports broadcasting.

Kira and Andrew Dixon’s relationship

The couple first met in 2012, when Kira Dixon was a college student interning during the day and moonlighting as a waitress at a burger joint in Georgetown. In walked Andrew, and a few hours later, their lives took a turn. “After a few hours and several beers, he came up to me while I was rushing to put in an order,” Kira Dixon told The Knot. “And he asked me for my number,” she continued. Soon after, they shared a summer romance, and then life took them in different directions—until two years later, when Andrew reached out again and everything fell into place.

Before popping the question, Andrew wanted the proposal to feel like them—laid-back, personal, and meaningful. A week prior, the couple had taken a romantic trip down the California coast to celebrate their fourth anniversary. “It was romantic and perfect, and I was sure he was going to propose,” Kira later shared. But to her surprise, no ring appeared during that trip, just a little premature excitement and some quiet disappointment. “I was mad at myself for getting so excited about it,” she laughed. What she didn’t know was that Andrew had something even more personal, and perfectly timed up his sleeve.

Just a weekend later, they found themselves at one of their favorite golf courses in San Francisco. As they walked up to the tee box, Andrew discreetly pulled the ring from his driver headcover, dropped to one knee, and asked Kira to marry him. Caught completely off guard, in golf clothes and without makeup, Kira said yes as their families watched the heartfelt moment from the clubhouse, making it all the more unforgettable.

But their wedding celebrations were far from ordinary—they included not one, but two ceremonies, plus a low-key golf tournament!

Their first ceremony was a significant Russian Orthodox service in a San Francisco church, paying tribute to Kira Dixon’s Russian roots. “My parents got married in the Soviet Union at a time when you couldn’t get married in a church if you wanted to,” Kira explained, “so it was important for us to honor the sacrifices they made to give their children a better life.”

A few days later, Kira and Andrew Dixon hosted an elegant outdoor ceremony at a private ranch in Sonoma, surrounded by family and friends. To celebrate their mutual love of golf, something close to Kira’s heart as a Golf Channel host, they organized a friendly golf tournament for their friends at Northwood Golf Club just a day before their wedding. Kira enlisted the help of her colleagues to find a course that was at a suitable distance from the main wedding venue.
