Matt Wallace carded a memorable round three at the DP World Tour Championship 2023 in Earth Course, Dubai. The 4x DPWT winner is leading the scoreboard with 12 under 60 for his third round. He is only the second player on the European tour to hit back-to-back birdies on the back, nine after James Nitties did in 2019 at the Vic Open.

Now with only one round remaining, there is a possibility of Wallace winning the $3 million prize money. With his family and friends’ support, the golfer has come far. There is one person who has sacrificed and supported him throughout. Meet Matt Wallace’s girlfriend, Chelsie Joce.

Chelsie Joce is of Spanish descent, born in England. She has a sister, Hazel Joce. Much of Chelsie’s personal life is hidden from the public eye. She has not updated her X profile or Instagram, or posted a new blog for a few years now. However, from the posts still up on the website, here is a glimpse into Chelsie’s incredible life.

Chelsie wanted to be a businesswoman while she was in university. She started her educational journey in Hertfordshire, and attended the St. Albans Girls School for her secondary education from 2007 to 2012.

Moving to Harpenden (a town in England), she attended the Roundwood Park School in 2012 and graduated from it in 2014. In order to fulfill her career dreams, Chelsie joined the esteemed University of Leeds in 2014.

She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management at Leeds in 2017 with a 2:1. In the same year that Chelsie joined the University, she met Matt Wallace.

According to her, on one of the nights out in the club, Wallace encountered Chelsie. He told her, “You’re lucky you met me tonight. I’m a professional golfer. I’m never here, I travel a lot.” It seems Chelsie was impressed by Wallace’s pickup lines.

The pair started dating in December 2014. At the time, Chelsie was pursuing her education and Wallace was trying to make it in the professional golf scene. The duo have been together for nine years and will complete a decade with each other in 2024.

While being with the love for life, Chelsie had to sacrifice her dream of working. The initial days of their relationship were going fine. However, it was in 2016 when Wallace started winning and traveling around the world, and the trouble began.

Wallace won six events during his time at the Alps Tour and was on the accreditation list. To get the European Tour card, he played in the Open De Portugal. The Englishman went ahead to win the event and grab a two-year exemption for the tour. In 2018, Matt won four times on the tour. However, his rise was affecting his relationship.

Chelsie could not spend much time with Wallace and she decided to make a major decision for Team Wallace and her life. The Spaniard decided to take a break from her life endeavors and support Wallace all the way. She explained that she made a sacrifice of her career for her happiness and her relationship.

Since his debut in the DP World Tour, Wallace has won four times on the European Tour, six times on the Alps Tour, and once on the PGA Tour. For all his wins and losses, Chelsie has been there to support him and encourage him for the better.

Moreover, she has not stopped working on her portfolio. Starting out as HR Temp for Conde Nast International to adorning the role of Executive Assistant, since June 2023, she is devoting her time at L’Oréal as a Business Assistant.

Chelsie has been out of social media and does not update it. However, her blogging site, Girl On Tour, has captured her life from December 2019 to April 2020. Chelsie had decided to share her journey as a golf partner with Matt Wallace. She described herself as a non-athletic person, though.

The Joce family has always played golf, except for Chelsie, who was not interested in picking up and hitting the ball. However, fate had something else planned. Now, Chelsie is surrounded by golf all the time. And it seems she loves being a part of golf, even if she is not playing.
